1. I haven't played netball since school - will I still be able to play?

Anyone can play netball - whether you are a complete beginner, an experienced player or someone who hasn't played since school. The best way to get back into netball is to visit our CLUBS page and find the nearest club to you. Our clubs welcome everyone and the language isn't a problem too as the majority of our clubs speak at least two languages.

2. How do I become an umpire?

Swiss Netball holds umpiring courses exclusively for Swiss Netball Individual Members. Courses will be advertised through the Netball member clubs and schools and social media platforms.

3. Do learner umpires have to be an individual member of Swiss Netball to attend umpiring courses?

Yes, all learner umpires must hold Swiss Netball Individual Membership to attend an officiating course.

4. Is there a lower age limit to becoming an umpire?

 

All learners must be at least 14 years of age at the time of taking an umpiring course.

5. Is the Introduction to Umpiring Award Course a compulsory part of the Officiating Pathway?

Not currently but it is the first step towards becoming an umpire and Swiss Netball highly recommend that anyone interested in umpiring compete this award before moving onto the C Award course.

6. What is the youngest age to trial for the U17 National Squad?

You have to be at least 13 years old on the 31 December prior to competition.

7. How good are the leagues? Will the standard be too high for me?
