The team have made great progress on court and have grown in confidence as a squad throughout their year of training. The squad Includes 3 athletes who have stepped up from Cadre and Under 17 programme and these young women are a valuable asset to the programme.
Switzerland was first represented at Under 17 level at the European Championships in 2010. From this early debut into international netball, the development programme for junior players was then implemented through a Cadre d'espoir, which over the course of 5 years improved the standards of netball in Switzerland beyond recognition for the first flurry into high performance netball. In 2015, the team took gold, winning their group and becoming European U17 Challenge Cup Champions.
As of 2016, National Squads training for both junior and senior athletes is coordinated as part of a year-long programme. The Under 17 team is selected from the junior athletes.
