Coaching and Officiating

Swiss Netball works hard to create opportunities for its Members to obtain access to coaching and officiating training and awards. We aim to increase the number of officials within Switzerland holding internationally recognised qualifications, which will in turn support the improvement of Netball standards.

Swiss Netball has a clear Umpire Pathway, which begins with the Swiss Netball Beginner Umpire Award and then progresses through the Netball Europe and INF standard levels (C, B, A then International Umpire). These awards can only be delivered by accredited tutors from Swiss Netball or Netball Europe. The current plan focuses on consolidating the number of beginner and C Umpires at club level in Switzerland.

Swiss Netball also supports the improvement of coaching standards, running workshops and, where possible, offering opportunities to Swiss coaches to observe and assist with training for national squads.

If you’d like to get involved as a coach, umpire or bench official, then contact your local Netball club, which receives all the information from Swiss Netball on upcoming training opportunities. If you don’t belong a club and you’re looking to get involved and would like some help, then please contact Swiss Netball via

Match Bench Official Courses

Swiss Netball has arranged for two tutor assessors from Netball Europe to run two Match Bench Officials Courses:

  • Thursday 8 October, 16:00-20:00 at the Centre Sportif du Bois des Frères, Chemin de l’Ecu 24, Châtelaine 1219
  • Friday 9 October 2015, 12:00-16:00 at International School of Geneva, La Grande Boissière campus, 62 Rte de Chêne Genève 1208.
  • Participants only need to attend one of the two courses.

This is a great opportunity and part of Swiss Netball's ongoing commitment to improving officiating standards in the country and key to the implementation of our strategic development plan. An international netball match can only run if the officials have been qualified correctly to record scores and timekeeping according to INF rules. If you attend this course there will be an opportunity to officiate for the International matches Switzerland vs. Canada over the weekend 9-11 October. All tickets to this event are free of charge and all attendees on this course will be expected to obtain a ticket for the event too. Click here to buy tickets
